I wanted to share some recent before and after photos of one of our projects that involved a collaborative effort with Granite Transformations of Seattle.
The shower was enlarged only a few inches but enough to accommodate a low threshold walk-in entry with just a single partial heavy glass panel. The shower Calla Lily panel and vanity and shower trim feature Trend Art Mosiacs from Granite Transformations. The countertop, shower pan and wall panels are TruStone Alaskan Taupe. All new fixtures from the 90 degree suite of Moen fixtures and vinyl wood plank flooring complete the look. The before/after photos show the WOW factor of adding art as part of your remodeling project. Taking your remodel from ordinary to awesome!

Calcutta Gold and Carrera are two new color options that we are offering in the TruStone product line. Both have proved to be very popular. The look is timeless and indistinguishable from natural marble, but of course there is no need to worry about staining or fracturing and as easy-to -maintain as our full product line. Here are a couple of Carrera photos with a tile mosaic backsplash and shower trim. Check out more photos on Facebook!

We’ve had a few recent reviews posted on Angie’s List. Check them out! Angie’s List is a great resource for reliable consumer reviews of local companies and services. There are no paid reviewers and advertising does not effect the business rating.

We recently completed this bathroom remodel in Sammamish. The homeowners made great use of accent pattern trim with TruStone Crema Bordeaux shower and vanity area with a very contemporary Moen “Level” fixture suite in chrome.

We often receive Thank You letters from our customers expressing their pleasure with our products and service. However, it is unusual to receive a note from the customer of one of the contractors we work with!
A customer of Johnson Bros. Construction sent us this Thank You following the completion of their shower and vanity top. “Just a note to thank all of you at Designers marble for your patience and quality product. We visited your showroom several times and you answered all of our questions and made excellent suggestions. The product delivered was perfect and Don did a superb job with the installation. We are extremely pleased, and will recommend your firm when we can. Thanks again”

I am often asked “How much will my bathroom remodel cost?”
Having worked in the bathroom remodeling business for the last 20 years, I can tell you that there are a number of issues that will affect your budget which don’t really fit into a sf cost basis. I would definitely recommend working with a licensed contractor that specializes in bathrooms as they are a different beast from Kitchens and there are often unforeseen issues with mold and dry rot which may not be initially apparent. Anyway, in my experience an average Guest Bath remodel will run about 10k and Master Bath closer to 20k. Things that will affect your budget significantly: are you changing the footprint, moving drains, building or removing non structural walls and/or doorways? Heated tile flooring vs vinyl (some of the new vinyls are great alternatives to tile cost-wise and maintenance)? Spa/jetted tub vs soaking tub? Heavy glass enclosure vs std glass (Heavy glass is a beautiful look but probably not worth the extra expense for a guest bath), cabinetry is usually a big chunk of the budget- your wood choices and choice of door facings, whether custom or not could double your cost for the same size, shower and countertop surfaces: you can use a solid surface type product for about the same price as tile and have greater durability and easier maintenance. Some of the new surfaces, like TruStone look like slab stone but are actually engineered, Finally your choice of plumbing fixtures will affect your budget- if you want quality don’t buy through the big box stores..,the national brands provide a lower quality product (plastic vs brass parts) to the big box stores than those you purchase thru a plumbing wholesaler . Also, don’t forget to upgrade your fan and lighting. Just some things to consider in order to have a realistic budget for your bath remodel.
